The Reuse of the Laternendecke in Indian, Tibetan, Central Asian art, etc.

The Laternendecke type of ceyling has been initially developed as a practical solution for areas where wood was scarce, but then assumed a symbolic meaning and has been reused in India, Central Asia, China, and in Hindū, Buddhist, Zoroastrian and Islamic contexts.
